Thurs. 7/31 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. $12

Kenny Klein, Musician and Priest

Kenny Klein, Musician and Priest

As Wicca becomes more popular, and the coven structure is replaced by festivals, open circles and solitaries, many of the most magical and powerful traditions of the Craft are lost or forgotten. Kenny Klein explores some of the great secrets taught in the traditional coven structure, such as the Tenets of Faith, the Paths Of Power, the full Wiccan Rede (all 28 lines) , and older Pagan traditions. Eye of Horus is staying open late for this very special workshop. Kenny is a co-founder of the Blue Star tradition of Wicca, and has been a Wiccan priest and teacher for over twenty years.

Workshop 2, Fairy Lore in British Folk Music
Fri 8/1 from 7:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. $12

Fairy Lore in British Folk Music: Kenny Klein explores portrayals of Fairies, Werefoxes and Underworld creatures in traditional British Isles folk music. See how the creatures of Fairie were viewed by folklore from ancient times, to the views of Victorian balladeers. Learn about changelings, Selkies, and the Fairy Queen.

This Workshop will lead into a concert, and if you register for both ($15) in advance, you save a couple of bucks.  Call Eye of Horus 612-872-1292.

Kenny Klein in Concert Friday, August 1st
8:30 p.m.- $7 Cover – Eye of Horus Gallery

Eye of Horus is proud to present Kenny Klein — fiddler, guitarist, singer and all-around performer. He is a veteran of Renaissance Festivals, concert venues and smokey Country bars.

Well known for both serious songs and for his tongue-in-cheek, spry lyrics, Kenny performs such original songs as “Maria’s Not A Catholic Anymore, ” “Goth Girl Blues, ” and his show ender “What Do You Do With An Old Dead Gerbil?”.  His stories of renaissance festival life and of the streets of New York are seriously funny.

Originally from New York City, Kenny has traveled throughout the U.S.A. and Europe, playing and collecting fiddle tunes and songs. He has performed in legendary folk bars and venues including Folk City (NYC) and Speakeasy (NYC) , Ramblin Conrad’s (VA) , and Marie Poll’s (L.A.) . He’s played with country bands in Missouri, Celtic bands in Belgium, and he’s won fiddling championships in New York and Kansas. You can find out more about him and checkout his music at KennyKlein.NET
